Painterly Blue Jays - PDF
Blue jays flaunt their colors more than almost any other bird. They look especially great against all the other bright colors of nature: yellow suns, teal foliage, purple mountains💜
A note on my inspiration sources: While I was working out the blues for these birds, I visited the Van Gogh Museum and fell in love with his colors, especially his blues and yellows. I also read there about how much he was inspired by Japanese art, so I ended up looking at Japanese ink paintings (sumi-e), too. The misty mountains in this pattern come from those. It's a bit of a mix of influences that happened along the way, but I hope you like it!😊
